MANGROVES PROJECT

In 2022 arena planted 2778 mangrove trees that are estimated to absorb 350,000 kg of CO2. Mangroves project will offset part of the emissions generated from our International Sales Events organized in 2022: in Sardinia (17th – 19th May 2022) and in Milan (15th – 16th November 2022). We are glad to partner with zeroCO2 in planting our Mangroves forest in Guatemala in Mazatenango in the Suchitepéquez department located on the south coast of the Country. Our goal is to restore the ecosystem through reforestation planting mangrove trees of the species Conocarpus erectus and donating them to local communities and engaging them in training to maintain and safeguard the forest over time.

MARINE REFORESTATION

In 2022, arena supported zeroCO2's "marine reforestation" project, which involves planting a Posidonia oceanica (a marine plant commonly known as Neptune grass) in Golfo Aranci, restoring the marine ecosystem along the northeastern coast of Sardinia, Italy. arena CEO Peter Graschi commented, "At arena we all share a passion for sports and life in and around water. Water is at the core of our brand. We want everyone today and in future generations to enjoy swimming and water sports. Human activities and rising CO2 emissions are seriously threatening our coastal and marine ecosystems, and the oceans absorb up to 25 percent of the CO2 produced worldwide, making a vital contribution in limiting global warming. On Earth Day this year, we are very proud to partner with zeroCO2 on marine forestation in Sardinia."
